Tasia & Gracia started their cooking career after winning the television competition, My Kitchen Rules, in 2016. After many private dining and public events cooking around Australia, they opened up their debut restaurant, Makan, in 2018.
Born in Indonesia and raised in India and Australia, the sisters began cooking at a young age after a lifetime of meals with their family, their mother being a big inspiration for their love of food. As most cooks, this love grew and became a hobby for the sisters, showcasing their talents across Melbourne before deciding to enter the cooking-competition, My Kitchen Rules. After years of recipe developments, tastings and trial and error, Makan was born in the heart of Melbourne’s city– established on their family recipes, as well the desire to showcase delicious Indonesian flavours: the sisters took this in their stride, creating their own oasis for people to come and enjoy.
We are so lucky to be able to share our restaurant with you, as it is like a home away from home.”
